What is the basic principle of IVF ?

It consists in collecting mature oocytes (eggs) produced by the ovaries and putting them into direct contact with the partner's spermatozoa, outside of the female body (the denomination "in vitro" and "test tube baby").

After its fertilization, the egg will lead to the formation of an early embryo by successive cell divisions. This embryo will be replaced in the womb (= uterus), hopefully leading to a viable pregnancy.

This method, although simple in appearance, is in fact, complicated and delicate.
