In vitro fertilization (IVF)

In vitro fertilization consists of collecting mature oocytes produced by the ovaries and putting them in direct contact with sperm outside the woman’s body. The embryo(s) thus obtained is(are) deposited in the uterus.

The aim of stimulating the ovaries in IVF is to ensure the simultaneous development of several follicles instead of just one in order to be able to collect several oocytes and to thus obtain several embryos so that at least one of them with a good morphology can be transferred.
