The eggs are then collected using an ovarian puncture carried out under ultrasound control. The partner&#8217;s or a donor&#8217;s sperm are prepared in the laboratory to be then brought directly into contact with the eggs in a culture dish.  <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Selection<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\">After fertilization, the obtained embryos are monitored in culture for a few days. The embryo or embryos of the highest quality are then selected to be transferred into the woman&#8217;s uterus, either in the same cycle (fresh embryo(s)) or in a subsequent cycle (frozen embryo(s)). <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Embryo Transfer<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Embryo transfer is a simple and painless step that is done vaginally. It is important to underline that the number of embryos transferred depends on the woman&#8217;s age and medical history. Generally, we transfer one or two embryos, in order to maximize the chances of success while limiting the risks of multiple pregnancy.  <\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\">Pregnancy Test<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"auto\">After the transfer, you can resume normal daily activity.
